Would any of the home brewers and beer drinkers on here be interested in starting a forum dedicated to, cleverly enough, drinking and brewing.
There are a few of them out there but I want one with a southern california slant.

I know I have been contemplating trying the home brew thing... If I get the extra bucks, and can do it, I'd be up for the mentorship of fellow brewers for sure!

Its super easy and only costs like 100 bucks for the gear.
Actually, its as complicated and expensive as you want to make it. You can do all this crazy stuff to make your beer "better" but the basics suffice.

Yes... I have no idea what it would taste like but you can add all kinds of stuff to the beer while you steep the grains or while you are fermenting. Its pretty common to add things like berries.
Its best to add it when you are steeping the grains because the boiling will help sterilize it. If you add stuff during the fermentation, you run the risk of contaminating the beer with something nasty like bacteria.

They usually don't add that much but yeah. They are pretty good. I kinda want to toss a bit of coffee in a small batch of porter and see what happens.
I've tried a jalepeno beer before. It was as weird as it sounds.

Those beer farts must have been frightening.

The thought of them was frightening enough that I stopped drinking before I would have witnessed them firsthand.
I've been wanting to brew my own for a while. A few buddies do it back home, and I've never had the follow through on my own setup. I'd definitely be part of such a forum.

I have tried some before and it wasn't that good. Stick to your normal method of delivery.:)

I am not a homebrewer but I am an avid fan of beer. I think this would be a nice addition to the site. Next weekend is the strong ale festival in Carlsbad!

Last year was fun, I will probably be attending this year also.
Would this forum be part of SocalEuro or a separate forum?
If a separate forum I know of a few people who would join and contribute to the forum.

I was going to build a separate forum just for beer.

We might if we get enough people together.
For the time being... I'm just in it to drink beer. I don't need a trophy to do that. :p

Okay... I tossed a forum out there.
Now I'm working on the rest of the site.
