ST is good stuff. Same as Weitec.

You should be able to get em for around $699 for the height adjustment only style (GT) and $849 for the dampening and height adjustment style (TX)

If they are more than that your paying too much.

Well, you are talking about the Weitec line and yes those prices were correct for Weitec. Since Weitec is no longer offered through KW in NA anymore things have changed. ST's prices are more but we have to work with what we can get.

Lets just say I tested ALOT of the "other guys" springs in my days there....

But how long ago was this? When ST was its own entity I agree it was a little off. But now that they have been taken over its a whole different company.

Well maybe so, but Eibach is dominant in most forms of racing and they OWN NASCAR now so if you bought a coil over kit from them, you would be buying pretty much the same spring used in racing....

Just my opinion..... but Im sure it dont mean much... :)

I totally agree about Eibach, great stuff. But I wouldn't be excited that they own Nascar, I tend to turn right.

Remember that KW has a bit of experience as well. AMG did trust them to do the suspension for the Black Series.

What shocks come with the ST coilovers?

lbvr6
12-04-2007, 02:56 PM
Basically ST has the same setup/valving as the Variant 1. ST has a galvanized housing instead of stainless would be the biggest difference in the shock body but our weather in Socal doesn't cause too much corrosion anyway.

lets see if we can get a price on the fully adjustable coils for a 2003 1.8t and i will decide if i can go ahead with it

Fully adjustable? ST is ride height only, you'd have to go with a Variant 2 or 3 from KW.

Eibach make decent springs, but i dont know about the coilover setup or shocks

i hardly see people running Eibach's for anything beyond street setups

for something with performance, i havent seen much from Eibach

They design, build, test and dyno all their own shocks in-house in Corona...

So whats your definition of "Something with performance"?

QFT. On display at SEMA.

Eibach is pretty reputable but seems like everyone recommends KW when it comes to heavy duty track cars, meaning other than turning left. :p

Weitec and ST share a lot between the two lines however one major difference that came to mind is that the ST stuff has a US warranty and the Weitec line is not supported in the US. Also as per KW Automotive (the owner of ST,Weitec,Belltech,LSD Doors, and of course KW Suspension) some of the ST line has updated valving that has not been shared/transfered over to the Weitec line. Good stuff for the price either way though:tup:

Disclaimer: I used to do QA for Eibach....

Did you work there recently? If so did you do testing on the pro street s line coilovers? If so did you see the markings on it that said "made by KW Suspension" on them
Basically the entire pro street s line is KW Variant 1's with Eibach's springs on them.
KW uses two spring manufactures to complete thier coilovers and one of them is Eibach so the products are very similar when refering to the Variant 1 line up versus the Eibach pro street s line.

Well maybe so, but Eibach is dominant in most forms of racing and they OWN NASCAR now so if you bought a coil over kit from them, you would be buying pretty much the same spring used in racing....

Your opinion definitely means a lot..Forums are great in that way..your feedback on other springs could definitely benefit a forum member that may have been considering a lower line spring company and stepped up a level as per your recomendation thus getting a better kit than he may have orininally purchased.

I definitely would not deny that Eibach is a world renowned spring manufacture and the feedback from racing goes into the development of new products for the street as well as track. That being said I feel that KW automotive has more experience in tuning street cars with complete coilover kits and that is partially why Eibach contracted KW to build the shock body and shock internals for thier coilover kits.

What shocks come with the ST coilovers?

KW Shocks but in Galvanized steel rather than stainless like on the KW line.

Not all thier shocks or at least not anymore.

This industry changes so much that it is hard to keep up with what everyone is doing but as per KW and Eibach this is the latest word.

Now back to the feeler status on a ST group buy...LOL

I can still get Weitec imported for cheaper than ST prices. I don't understand why Klaus has priced it so far out of the market.

Good luck, but for the cost of ST, I would buy B&G's instead.
Skwurlz, please refrain from unprofessional posts

it is not professional to go in another vendors thread to promote another shop

price is relative also to service provided, this type of posting only shows how unprofessional the business that you represent maybe

I have removed your last post

also keep in mind, people, that if you have something constructive to say, by all means ... but if your not interested in the product that is offered, move on

Actually, you have it backwards.

For racing their springs are great. (Because they sell them as spring rates and all the ones ive tested were within 5lbs of their rate.) For street use, they are junk. The spring rates are all over the map from where they should be. But, the common man might not even notice.

check Tunershop.com

Unfortunately Steve has the lowest prices on ST.

Dude.....you can not be serious with your responses to this VENDOR post.

Here is the deal..as a Vendor I pay to support this site and it allows me to post in the classifieds etc. As a Forum Vendor I do not expect a random person that is not even a "supporter" of this forum to jump on my post in a vendor classified section and tell people they should buy another product,or they can get another product imported, etc. C'mon man didn't your mom teach you the old saying if you do not have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Please respect the fact that because I pay yearly to promote my shop on this site that enables the site to stay online by covering overhead etc. If Vendors such as I did not support the site there would be no site for you to post on so please make sure you are respectful when posting in a thread started by a vendor.

Also Just an FYI...we compared our sales prices on the ST line versus Tunershop and our sale prices were definitely lower that what they offered.

I tried some Eibach's Pro-kit on my MK2 and I agree that they have too soft of a spring rate. I didn't choose them, they were laying around and tried them out.

But you can choose any spring rate you would like from their Motorsport catalog which is a great option for someone setting a car up for track use.

I am pretty newb, all I know is that I'd like a stiffer ride with my car. Something with better response. Would coilovers provide that?

Neccros
12-18-2007, 10:05 AM
Probably.... but another advantage is you can raise or lower your car to your taste w/o destroying your ride by cutting coils(which is stupid anyways)

Yes they would. Do you need the ability to adjust the height of your suspension? If not, just get a cup kit (springs/shocks/struts). Find one with shocks/struts that are dampening adjustable so you can change the stiffness. Also research before to see the lowering you prefer.

H&R with Tokico would be an acceptable option for sure.

You could also do a KW Variant 1 considering the sale price would be pretty close to the cost of the spring/ shock combo and the KW ride quality would be much better.

if the pricing is right I may want to swap out the H&R/Tokico from the IS

can you get OSIR products, if so how competitive is your pricing?

On the Osir products...we have to do a $2500.00 buy in and we currently have one customer interested so we need to get a few together and give everyone super deep deals to complete the buy in and stoke everyone out.

Shoot me a PM and I will get ya the pricing on the KW's--for some reason the PM icon is not showing up when I logged in today.
