Well, its getting to be that time again, for our good old fashioned, heated political threads. I thought I would post a poll to see what the figure are and which way SoCalEuro swings the vote. Granted there are many different parties, but I thought I would list the main ones.

Are you kidding? If Hillary wins, that means more taxes, transfer to a welfare state, and more importantly for you, Military budget cuts. I urge not just you, but everyone to study this upcoming election, this is going to be a big turning point in America as we know it today.

Jettaone420, if you are military, it is a bad sell to say that Clinton was good for anything, especially the military, but from your age on your profile you weren't in the military during the clinton years. The pros for Obama is that his message so far is one of rebuilding the country, and one of hope, unlike many of the other candidates who just speak of damage control.

This year???

We've been fucked....

Seriously- Been a registered Independent, since 03. Here in Tennessee, when you register you are not asked your party affiliation.

Don't know what I'm gonna do in 08- I'd like to see Obama. Voting for Hillary (Cheney in a pant-suit, so I've heard) is almost as stupid as as voting for Bush- so yeah, we're pretty screwed this time around..

mike

just look on all their websites under the issues section, all issues like homeland security, health care, education, second amendment, taxes budget and spending, are all touched on briefly with an overview of how the candidate feels towords them and the direction they are stating to head.

"I don't oppose all wars. And I know that in this crowd today, there is no shortage of patriots, or of patriotism. What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war."

Not trying to start anything, seriously. But Clinton approved a 3% military pay raise and topped it off with a 4.5% housing allowance raise for us as well. Bush fought really hard to not get us the 3.5% pay raise authorized by congress and finally settled with a 2.2% pay raise. (numbers are as close to accurate as i can recall). With this day and age it is hard to see if a Republican or Democrat will treat out military better. I would Seriously look into the candidates if you are going to vote, there is alot of speculation by alot of people as to what each candidate is promising. And even then, we all know that what they say and what they do is completely arbitrary.

The payraises were nice under Clinton, but the housing allowance shift in southern california was not his doing, all he did was sign the bill. The bush period has not been any better, the quality of life has gone down considerably with the crazy deployment schedules across the branches. I am definately unimpressed with hillary's statements that her experience will make the difference... What experience? I agree that people need to research the candidates. It is crap that people take their freedom for granted and do not vote.

With this day and age it is hard to see if a Republican or Democrat will treat out military better.

I think that this is an age that neither party can dismiss the military . . . the public being very patriotic feels for the military, so I think neither Republican, nor Democrat will be blackballing the Military any time soon.

please, people, don't vote.

seriously.

don't vote.

I completely Agree!!!!

That being said . . . my 2 cents. Obama has some good points, but is getting a lot of attention (I hate to say it) cause he's . . . ummm . . . darker then all the other candidates!! :) And unfortunately, for me, that overshadows alot of his publicity. I'm not racist, I'm just calling it like i see it.

Hilary stated she would not be running for president . . . a few months after Obama announces and gets very good ratings, Hilary joins the poll. Liek Obama, she had some good points, but is getting a lot of attention because . . . ummm . . . she has different body parts than the other candidates!!! :) But I'm not Sexist.

Guilliani hides behind Sept. 11th . . . he did a great job, but NY had already voted for a new Mayor, he was extended because of 9/11, and since then the new Mayor had done wonders!!

McCain . . . can't really stand the guy, I don't think he respects the people that challenge him, and that could be a disasterous combination as a World Leader.

I think Hilary has some good experience and good judgment. She is very strong willed, but I think she could definitely create bonds and ties that men could not (face it, women have an ability to win over men, no matter how crazy they are). I think she gained a lot of experience being the first lady, and as a Senator. I just hate the facts about being the first woman president, and being the first "first lady" to become president. Too many Firsts.

That said, I'm not voting. When large states swing one way, your vote doesn't count either way, you're just voting along with the ride!! When they introduced Vote Swapping . . . where people can contact people in other states and switch votes so that their vote would count . . . I realized what kind of false sense of power voting was. Voting for city things, and county things can make a difference. But voting for president is like throwing frisbees into the wind, you may throw it one way, but the rest of the country makes it go the other way. This is me talking out my ass BTW!! ;)

Toy,

CALIFOURNEEYA is a big state. predominately Liberal Democrats.

we need to influence the state. if enough individual votes are recinded, it could really affect the electoral college vote...

worse..........I hate to admit it........but when you have a countries that we have to deal with where women are not to be seen or heard.......I think we'll have an issue when it comes to having a woman representative in these kinds of positions.........

not everywhere we go or everyone we are involved in is as liberal and accepting as the USA.
