View Full Version : How much bad gas do you get on a single pump?

Hello.
I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how much
87 you can get when you press the 91 button.

I've been wondering since I believe it still has 87 right before the pump, to
the tanks. So who knows how much that is... :confused:

Ive always wondered about that myself. I have no clue id imagine as much as whats in the hose. I always look to see what the last customer pumped. Probaby not enough to make any kind of difference but yeah, might be something for the mythbusters or something. :)

Was thinking more about this question... On people who use cash, they state how many gallons they want. So would this mean maybe a tablespoon or so would be left in it because the automatic shut off valve (guessing there is one) would just stop feeding the pump fuel.

Now if it were purchased by credit card, maybe the whole hose? I'm not exactly sure how this one works, i'm guessing once it fills up the tank funnel and the gas pump nozzle detects the filled tank it shuts off right there leaving gas still in the pump maybe...

It probably depends on if the last person pulled the hose also. I always pull the hose down to get all that excess gas left in the loop.

I don't know but once in awhile I like to go put in a few gallons of 103 in a 3/4 tank =)
