well, my lights back on. i know for the e30's you turn your key on and press the gas pedal 5 times, then a code pops up for the car. i was wondering if you can do something similar for the e46. how do you run diagnostic and get the code? thanks.

Yep, autozone will pull the codes for you for free. When you get the codes if you aren;t sure what they mean just post them back here.

post it up and I'll let you know the most likely cause, or if your up in O.C. I'll check it for you. On an E46 M3 its usually the fault for the catalysts, or throttle potentiometer, if you have in SMG car, it can be a can of worms.

i should do it soon. i keep driving the car like everyday. weird cause my light went off long time ago, so i stopped caring :( stupid me
