1. Changing your TOMTOM splash screen to whatever you want it to be also works for the shutoff screen.
Select the image or photograph you want to have displayed on your TomTom GO
Open an image editing program (Paint, Microsoft Office Picture Manager, etc.)and rotate the selected image 90 degrees clockwise
Re-size the image to 320 pixels high x 240 pixels wide. (For TomTom Navigator the image needs to be resized to 320 pixels HIGH and 240 pixels WIDE.)
Save the image as a 24-bit Bitmap file named “splash.bmp”
Plug Your TomTom GO into your computer via the USB cable
Open your TomTom GO “hard drive” within My Computer
Locate the original splash file which is called “splash.bmp” and rename it to “splash1.bmp” (this naming allows you keep the original TomTom splash screen)
Copy your image (splash.bmp) from your computer to the same TomTom GO directory
Disconnect and boot up your TomTom GO. Your personalized picture should be there to greet you when you turn it on or off!2. Program for designing your own menu: its at the bottom of the page
http://www.gregoryduncan.com/ttmd/index.php
The directions for this program is here: http://www.gregoryduncan.com/ttmd/manualBeta1_10.pdf

3. A nice little program to change what car icon your TOMTOM shows, this even works on the TOMTOM ONE V3

IF YOU WANT A CERTAIN CAR FOR YOUR ICON LET ME KNOW!

TomTom Heaven explorer:

http://www.tomtomheaven.com/index.php?opti...5&Itemid=29 (http://www.tomtomheaven.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=285&Itemid=29)
just click on the box its in a different language but when installing will give the option for english.

Install the program under Windows (program is in French however, but easy to manage!):

1. Make a folder in the ROOT of your SD-card: /art/cars/ (in this folder you must place the Bitmaps)
2. Start TomTomXplorer (with your TT connected to your PC)
3. select the Bitmap you want to use (you must see the selected Bitmap in the upper right corner)
4. Enter on [Sauver] (wait till the program finish writing to your TT)
5. Enter on [Appliquer], accept the pop-up and wait till the program finished writing to your TT
6. Don't close the program yet
7. Disconnect your TT
8. End program
9. Reboot your TT (Off/On)

4. A great program to make your route using google maps then importing to TOMTOM. Its called TYRE which stands for Trace Your Route Everywhere
http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/index.php

5. A great site for TOMTOM custom splash screens that a Myself and a friend are building together
http://www.n715dp.com/tomtomsplash/main.php

6. I have updated POI's for all sorts of things like gas stations, radio freg throughout the country, VW dealerships in Cali and Arizona..

There will be more additions to this coming soon i hope you guys like this post!
