alright guys anf gals i just got the tt266 cam with the hd springs and retainers. now i need to know how to take the valve springs off with the head still on the car if possible. i know i need to fill the cylinder with air i have done this before but on v8 motors never on a 4cyl that the springs are inside the cylinder. if i can rent a tool somewhere let me know i am doing the work in san dimas or if someone has a tool i can borrow for a day that would be great thanks!

just use a cyl differential tester to hold the valve in place. Be sure to have the piston at TDC so if you loose pressure you dont drop the valve inside the cyl.
Thats the easy way.
Or you can use nylon rope.
remove spark plug at BDC. Feed rope into the cyl. turn crank until it stops, there ya go.

sweet i'll do that instead. now what valve spring compresser do i use?
Or go to Shawn's house, do some yard work while he installs the cam for you.

The thing is 266 cams are pretty agressive for motronic. You'll probably need a custom tune to have the thing run properly.

It sounds like you have something out of time. Verify your marks and double check everything.
Why did you put in HD valve springs??
