there are many ways to make a car go faster.
you can upgrade the engine management system (chip), exhaust system, intake system, or get a bigger turbo or supercharger if you have a force induction engine...
if you want to make a car go faster in turns, you can look into suspension upgrades. having a better suspension setup will provide the car a better handling on the turn so the car will obtain faster speed while in turns.

i'd say, the best bang for the buck is a chip. how fast you think of going? :smokem:
btw, what kind of A4? 1.8t or 3.0.

Look into a chip. Its the best bang for your buck performance mod out there for a 1.8T.
Now they can even chip your car just by hooking up a laptop and pressing a few buttons.
The big names are GIAC, APR, and Revo. Hopefully someone from NorCal can chime in with some good tuners up near you.

chip?? u mean computer chip???
Yes, the computer chip in the car.
will that hurt my car a lot ???
it pretty much base on the driving behavior. if you step on gas all the way down all the time, some parts on the car will break easily, but if you are a careful driver and warms up the car before a hard run and cools down the car properly, it will not hurt as much.
Since you drive a turbo charged car, you will notice a good increase in power when you upgrade a chip. Everyone has different opinion for chips, some chip companies offer free trials so you can try it out and see which one you like the most. i'd say stick with the major brands though. Upsolute and Nuespeed are some other big names in addition to those above by ncttrnl.

The best was the guy on audizine that has a picture of his GF in his avatar and guys kept sending him their phone numbers and and crap in PMs.
He finally had to put in his sig that the girl in his avatar was his GF.

Most of the chips are very similar ... anyone who tells you otherwise that a company is better is just BS'in ... they are so close ... its hard to pick
the best option is to pick a chip company who has a local dealer to you
as for San Jose, Dyno Spot Racing is near you, http://www.dynospotracing.com/
they are GIAC dealer
also New Dimensions offers Dahlback software, http://www.newdimensions.com/

i found a dealer in san jose
they told me is $499 with dyno and air %^&* i have no idea what is that
what is dyno???? or dyno and air ^&*$%???

A dyno run is something you do primarily to test horsepower/torque of a car.
Places also use it for tuning to see how a car does at different engine speeds and loads so they can really see whats happening.
All this place is going to do is provide you with a couple little graphs to show you the lines are higher after they chipped the car than they were when you came in. Its not really necessary. If they do it for free, great. If they are charging you for it, you'd really only be getting it for a "thats neat" feeling.

I should probably say what a dyno actually is...
Think of it as putting your car on a treadmill so it can run in place. It basically has big rollers your wheels sit on and it has a way to make those rollers more or less difficult to move so the cars power output can be tested. They strap your car down so it wont move off the rollers and then hop in and hit the gas.
