This technically didnt have to be in VW, but I thought I'd ask you guys anyways...

For those who have AAA, do you know if the Premier members get the option of a flat bed?

I know when I lived in Canada, CAA had the option where you could request a flat bed, lets say because you're car was too low for a reg. tow truck.

I've emailed AAA with no response. Before I call tomorrow, thought i'd check here.

All AAA can do so.

I've always requested a flatbed for my car.

I had the basic one and could request a flatbed, just may take a little longer to get to you, now I have premiera and unlimited Tows are nice with 2 or 3 100 mile tows. I always get a flatbed, one time they asked why and I said it was a VW, and they said Oh ok. Another time I said it was 4wd, well it was my Jeep but still. If they ask just tell them. Lowered will help too.

Yeah, you always have the poption of a flatbed. But if all the ones close to your location are busy, you may have to wait for one. (like on a rainy day)

When I needed to be towed, I requested a flatbed and the tow guy told me all their flatbeds(6 of them) were all out picking up BMWs....

Hmmmmm dunno if that was true or he is just hatin' :) He did say they get alot of calls from BMW owners.

Just remember it's a request, so you could be waiting for a loooooong time.

Just make sure you notify during the phone call that you need one; they usually take a bit longer~ but you get one either way.

no shit i had to wait 3 hrs for a flat bed once cuz the closest two were busy one coming back from LA and stuck in traffic and the other going to drop off a car in perris

You definitely have the option to request a flatbed. They may send a normal truck to assess the situation initially but they will send a flatbed for the tow.

I know the feeling though. I won't let my Avanti be towed half up in the air and dragging ass.

They pretty much just sent a flatbed when mine got taken away. I'm sure you can just request one. They shouldnt charge you any more than normal.......but then again they are towers.

I'm pretty sure AAA wouldn't have a problem with sending you a flatbed. I was in the Lancer Evolution forums for quite some time and those must be towed with flatbeds (AWD). Haven't heard any stories of their request being denied.

AAA wouldn't mind bringing a flatbed. infact tow companies always ask you what kind of truck needs to pick up the car. it saves them a headache and saves them time/money.

The one time I needed a flatbed, I specified one on the phone but they ended up sending a regular tow truck... what WAS cool is the tow truck guy knew the shop I needed my car towed to and he stayed with my car and waited for a flatbed to become available so I didnt have to....

So I was free to head home and I didnt need to worry about anything...
