If you had BBS RS wheels on the way, what color combo would you do if you had a white car?

I have a white 00 jetta MK4 1.8t and I was thinking of doing a LIGHT Honey Gold with a Flat black lip with the Roof, side mirrors and badgeless painted black.

What do you guys think?

I'm open to opinions and ideas

Thanks!

I would keep them unpainted on a white car. Textured rub strips might look nice with a badgeless grill. Keep it clean looking and not too busy. :) Hope that helped!

Strip the paint and keep it colorless. Black can either look really good or really bad on a white car.

red centers. with black rubs..........basically a nun falling down stairs

id honestly go with a grey center/polished lip.......getting all fancy/noone's done it before gets old

That looks DOPE!! It would look hotter then shit on a white car that's for sure, The only reason why I wan the black roof and mirros is cuz the roof it will hide my sun roof better and the mirrors would hide rock chips or anyone that hits my mirror with their door, EFFING Lifted DISCO TRUCKS!!

i say time attack them, but instead of red strip... make it white :tup2:

That's a pretty good idea. But that white stripe would have to literally get washed every day just to stay clean

High Polished Outer Lip, Gloss Black Centers, Black Inner Barrel, Gold Assembly Bolts.

That would be my choice. Take Raderwerks B5 RS4 for example:

High Polished Outer Lip, Gloss Black Centers, Black Inner Barrel, Gold Assembly Bolts.

What ever you decide make sure to match the inner barrels. I think it looks tacky when people do colored lips and then have bare inner barrels.

You're probably right, but then again it's all in the details.

Details is the keyword. Its just easier to spot a half-ass job.

i dont know how many people who posted owned a set, but i have and i had this problem which i think might be common with the rs

the centercap assembly would always make itself offset in the front. it didnt matter how much i tighten the nut, the plate would shift (i think it has something to do with the wheels moving at different rates than the backs)

and seriously, you wouldnt notice the barrels, look at mine (never mind the rusted bolts) :)

Mine do that slightly on two of them. If you don't look for it...you probably won't see it.

Have you tried holding the ring in place and then tightening the nut?

karl
01-15-2008, 11:00 PM
yeah, did all the stuff.......i dont own the wheels anymore (they moved to the east coast)
you know how the plate has that tab to stop it from spinning?......at first i thought it had something to do with the powdercoat being too thick.....the nut wouldnt come loose in fact, it would actually be tighter than when i put it on. so that leads me to believe the the spinning of the wheels makes it happer (i dont know the correct term for what its called)

I don't know then. I just spin the ring till it stops, then I spin the nut on. Two of them line up perfect, the other two just slightly off.

To remove, I'll tap the ring with the removal tool after removing the nut and it falls out.

On a white car, I'd polish it ALL up. Nice and shiny.

TO be honest I'm not a huge fan of all polised, I'll either do the lip or just the face
