Nice man, congrats!
Once I got coils on my old ride, I promised myself that every car from now on would have them...such a difference.
I ordered some coilovers today as well.

which ones did you get?
Bilstein PSS
I've had FK coilovers on a previous car, and they didn't like the weather up North. I had to use the FK warranty. Hope you have better luck with FK than I did.

I've always been a whore and saved up for coils, I've never had springs or springs/shocks on a car. Do it once and do it right. It might be overkill for some, but turning a 4x4 into a dumped machine with an afternoon of work is entertainment for me.
Good purchase, one you won't regret.
I'm searching for a skid plate now too. Looks like BPTD might get an order.

actually i almost bought myself a set of wheels the other day..but i got these coilovers instead. i'm still planning on changing the wheels..but now i have to save up a little more to get them. but i will definatly let you know when i decide to sell them.
ok..on to my next question.....do i need a skid plate? i don't really see $300 in any of the skid plates..but if i absolutely need one..i guess i'll get one. if anyone has a used one...or know's where to get one cheap...let me know.
Thanks

With a 1.8T? I'd say no.
I had one slammed on coils in Toronto Canada (shitty roads) and never hit the pan once.

Yeah, you won't be hitting pans unless your super low or using super thin rubber band tires on wide wheels.

for the skid plate i would go for it. I have my factory suspensioned MK4 golf and i smacked the pan on a corner once. and with the aluminum pan it damaged pretty bad. i didn't have to replace it but they can/will go even at factory height they can get hit.
