I don't have any first hand experience but from a friend that has dealt with them I can imagine this will get interesting indeed

Would it be unfair to judge an entire company by the conduct of just one representative?

Thats pretty deep.
pondering.......
well, ive done that. Ive judged a business based on the service or conduct on just one scmuck employee. Then proceeded to never use them again. Ive done that.
And, to add to this thought, if ive also heard one bad thing about a person who worked for a business I might have used, I would seek service from another business. Even if it cost more in doing so.
Thats me tho, I have morals and shit.

I would stay away from this shop.
This has nothing to do with the actions of a representive of the company BTW.
It has to do with the amount of time my car spent in that shop reinforced by the poor quality of work and a sprinkle of bad customer service.
I know there is a good mechanic that works for creative, but he didn't do the work on my car.

sometimes the one representative CAN spoil the reputation of a company.
case in point:
i did not eat at Subway in high school, when i found out that the slut sandwich artist SUMMER, was screwing my boyfriend [at the time]...
i still refuse to eat at THAT particular location even tho this was 13 years ago...

he's got KMC Hoss rims and some seriously knobby off-road tires.. [i'm not up on the exact lingo]
but he's got the Jeep for work, because he works in GeoTech as a Soil Technician/Engineer somethingorother.
[he's at a 7am Seminar in the OC this morning, or I woulda had him answer this]
i think Mel put his ride up in Truck Trend a while ago
Oh cool, hes down in my neck of the woods, I'm thinking of getting something with a four wheel drive, a trail rig, nothing nice. Like an old K5 blazer, you guys coming out tomorrow???

I've heard nothing but bad about them for over a year now, from multiple parties. I think their reputation married with that of a certain new hire of theirs is...how do you say...a match made in heaven?

I've had HUGE issues with them.
Yes, one person can ruin a place but we are talking about a small shop anyways.

My best advise through my first-hand experience with James and crew...stay away from these guys! I went in to have a K04 upgrade and had nothing but problems from the moment I turned the key. It took over two weeks to have the work done although it was promised to take 3 days. I had a severe hesitation when loading up the engine and their solution was to keep swapping out parts instead of doing true troubleshooting. Ultimately they blamed the software (GIAC) which they outsourced to Torque Works in L.A.. They guys at Group5 fixed it up (see my review of them for details). The only good work they did was outsourced. My A-pillar guage cluster looks great. Someone in L.A. did it! Once they had my $1,800 they turned their backs on me.

What do you expect from a group who hires a um "nice" girl to represent them at the counter.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I was hoping for the best. Once bitten twice shy.
