I don't remember the specifics, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong... The dude was marketing his product/driving as the best or whatever and I think there was a tid bit of drama surrounding that. And then the car catches fire. And it was funny.

Busted oil line on the track.

David was a little controversial at the time so his car burning turned into a huge deal on the forum sites.

My point of view......

I was sitting near the stairs at the tower with the hungover film crew for the movide "dubbed" talking about what they wanted to film for the day. Cars were on the track and I pointed out that, hey, look, cars are ON the track, why not film some of it, might get something interesting?

They grumble about it and as I look out there thinking, what a waste...... I see there goes the A4 up in smoke. At which time I say, like that car on fire for example!"

They all jump up and we watch it smoke for a bit. The fire truck didnt go out so they sent the 5000 gallon water truck out there where it drove in circles trying to dump water on the car. Was a sad sight but after MY experience with Dave that year, felt it was all that karma he made for himself. Im over it.
