cool! welcome to S.D. !
I went to Grossmont College (grossmont.edu) until 2002, and I thought it was a pretty decent school. They recently remodeled and updated the library, and are adding more services.

I would recommend Grossmont or Palomar College
stay away from Mesa College, parking sucks, and its too distracting ... bad for studies
Grossmont and Palomar are lil better for those that need to concentrate
and housing is relatively cheap near those areas

Grossmont is a great school! I attended 1997-2002 (part time student), and during that time, it was in the top 10 community colleges in the US. Also, many of their professors also teach at SDSU, UCSD, USD and CSUSM, so you're getting really high quality instruction.
Go Griffins!

I've run the gammit pretty much.........took a class at Shitty (I mean City College), Mesa, Grossmont, Cuyamaca before transferring to SDSU.
I liked both Cuyamaca and Grossmont.
What major are you going for? That would actually help in my decision though as the colleges areas of strength vary.....
