So... I'm not really a diy person, and i'm trying to learn about tools and stuff, because I want to become a diy person haha Tonight I was a little bored so I wanted to paint the red strip on my grill candy white. They were all torx screws, T20 i think, and when I was on my last screw(4 total), It just wouldn't come out. I kept twisting and twisting, but it was not getting loose or coming out. Are the threads stripped? If so, how can i go about taking it out. Also, it is a very tight place below the grill, and I can't get behind the screw. Any help would be appreciated. TIA :)

if its stripped, you're going to have to drill off the head of the screw.

Is there any other reason why it won't come out? It just keeps turning and turning w/o getting loose. Does that mean it is for sure stripped?

i dont know how your grill mounts, but if the screw keeps spinning, the little threaded piece the screw screws into is either gone or is stripped. this is totally up to you. i personally would keep pulling the grill loose till the screw comes out. or pull the grill and loosen the screw as i pull

that is totally up to you. im not responsible for any damages----just a suggestion

try pulling it out, vice grips or needle nose

just kick it . . . really hard . . . then cuss at yourself for stripping it . . . then drive it to someone that will fix it for you . . . then once it's fixed cuss at yourself again for stripping it and having to pay someone to fix it! :D j/k

I'm with Karl, I'd pull while unscrewing to see if that helps, you're using the word stripped, but if it was stripped, it would not have the threads to grip, and if it was aonly half stripped, it would still be able to be removed to a point, then pulled out with no restriction. If it just sits there a spins (as I'm not familiar with your grill) is there a clip in the back that is spinning with it? or maybe a bolt? I would guess a clip that has come off of the plastic that is just spinnign with the screw.

Yeah, if you pull gently on the grill it should allow the screw to back out of the clip.

actually there is one trick ....if you can get at the head of the screw and have access to a dremel ...cut a slot into the top of the head and un-screw it out with a flat head screw drived ...ive had to do that one a few times

SEARS has a few tools for removing stripped screws and nuts - i think the kits run around 20 bucks and are usually good for a few attempts

guys he said it is spinning but not coming out.....its not stripped, the anchor nut is.

best bet is to continue to turn it, while taking a small flat head screwdriver and putting it behind the head ti give a little pressure, if that doesnt work you are gonna have to attack the anchor nut itself
