View Full Version : Migration?

So these forums seem to no longer be put through their paces to test things out. Do we still need to post and use the system more to work things out or are we pretty comfortable that it works and just go ahead with the migration?
I, along with others here, feel that the current skin is quite bland, the fact that it doesn't stretch the screen is less than desirable, and the way the user information is laid-out in threads isn't the most efficient. So how goes the search for and implementation of a new skin for these forums?
And finally, how long before we should be going live?

I'm at my parents right now diagnosing an issue with the damned TT.
When I get home, I will be pulling over post counts, actual dates registered, old posts, maybe sigs and avatars, and I will be setting up the galleries for individual users.
Obviously that isn't gonna get done in one night but I'll get as much as I can done tonight. The rest may have to wait until the weekend.
Looking at this post dialog... I think we need to ditch the uber big smilies. They are messing up the UI pretty bad and people can link to them if they want. Maybe we can make a gallery of smilies and forum images for things like the image red x and such.

Sounds good. Although we gotta make sure the avatar images are same size as we set the limit to. Also, not sure if we should enable signature images until we have a method of enforcing image sizes in signatures.
I think right now, we can use the built-in avatar and profile image size limits. But the signature doesnt have anything to enforce sizes.

What about making it so the site stretches the whole width of the screen like it does on the old forums?

Alrighty, I have no migrated as well. Hello fellas and ladies. Hey Lon are we also going to include the lesser known, more exclusive, and definitely necessary /*cough - NWF*/ forums?

I think you are worrying about the sig size too much, Lon.
The old site never had a built in limit, and we rarely had any issues. When we did, I just sent them a quick PM and it was taken care of.
