In SD preferably need a good wheel powerder coater
call around....i usually pay $50 a wheel and they strip the original finnish/media blast and apply the powdercoat. be sure you ask questions (if they remove the original finnish/meadial/sand blast, and turn around time....if i bring it to them on the beginning of the week, i usually have them back by the end of the next week

You wear it over your power suit and power tie to important meetings.
I just saw a powder coating thing in the sears catalogue. Anyone know what that's all about? It looked like a drill with a big light built into the bottom.

Looking for flat black, I could have the wheel distributor just do it for $300 before shipping to me but I was trying to see if I could save a few bucks on local powder coating....

Electro Tech (760) 746-0292
That's $340.00 so yeah where is this $50.00 dollar place?

I dunno...but it sounds like it involves power rangers...which is NOT good.

you need an oven to bake the coat. i have a coworker who bought that kit, it works decent. i dont know how you feel about putting something like that in your oven where you cook you food............

I would Highly recommend ECP powder coating in El Cajon. They did all the work for my show quad.
tell them you herd about them on glamisdunes.com and they will give you a good price.

Powdercoat is Paint, it's in tiny ball shapes. The Part to be painted is negativly charged, then the Positive Charged pellets are shot on, they stick all over and very uniform. Then it is baked. It's about the strongest most durable paint process there is......
Would like a $50 per joint in OC, anyone know of one? (Pref SouthOC if possible)

Powder One in El Cajon did mine for $50/face- That's with extensive masking and taping- Should of cost me $75/wheel but I stayed late and drank with the owner so he hooked me up. They now have a new owner and the quality is supposed to be even better now.
They were done in Flat blk with light txture- That means that they are supposed to look all rough like that. Ferrari engine covers are full Texture for example- that was to much krinkle for the look I wanted
But I have to say the BEST in SD county is ECP Powder Coating in El Cajon. They do all the powder coating work for Alumi-Craft Sand Rails ( $80k-$120K Sand Rails- www.alumicraft.info (http://www.alumicraft.info)). They quoted me $50/face and face plates for my BBS RS's- That's single stage Satin Black. Two stage(pearls, candys, metal flakes) are a little more expensive but not ny much, like $10-$15/wheel
These wheels

That flat light texture is the exact finish I want, no masking needed so maybe an 18X8 wheel will be ~$50 a piece? I'm shooting for $200-$225 total

Well, I'm kinda scandalous... I needed to get the lips polished as well, so I hit up Volcano Polishing in El Cajon and they said they would polish the lips like hella, hella cheap...$25/wheel and that included disassembling the wheels cause of how the lips work. They've since changed owners as well so I doubt they would do it that cheap again.

So when they took the wheels apart I just took the centers right over to Powder One like 100 yards away, then took them back when the powder coat was done.
But...I have a killer solution for you my friend. US Wheel in El Cajon will do everything for you, disassembly, paint or powder coat, polish (or in your case more paint), then put them back together but it will run you anywhere from $120-160/wheel.
But I'm cheap when it comes to stuff like this cause I know how much middle man crap there is. I took my RS's apart myself- super easy, took like 2 hrs for all 4. So US Wheel will disassemble and reassemble the wheels for you for $30/wheel total. So you take it to them to disassemble the wheels once they are done you take them to ECP ( which is the shop they use then mark it up to you..shhh, they are gonna hate me, but whateva's) get yor shit done and then take it back to them and they'll put them back together for you.
Hmmm....does that make sense?? Really you can just drop them off to US Wheel and they'll take care of everything for a reasonable charge...I'm just really cheap when it comes to this stuff cause I know all the shops that do all the stuff. And you're baller status so you don't need to sweat the extra $$$ Plus you need a lot more work that just getting the whole wheel coated.
337 just needs the whole wheels shot so taking it to US Wheel would just be stupid if you can take it right to the person who does the work for them and get a better price.

Well, kinda. Masking is expensive cause it's just strait labor. But the amount of powder it takes to cover you're entire wheel is much greater than my litle face.
I bet you'd be right around $60-$85. Just call and ask tomorrow- ask for Steve (619) 448-3932
