I know it doesn't have torque... it's a 4th gear pull, I didn't know where to put the RPM sensor.

224whp at about 5000rpm. GIAC ecu flash and K+N drop in filter.

torque and horsepower always cross at 5250,

good numbers.

I should be around that ballpark with my GIAC and EVOMS.

I dyno'd 208WHP and 228TQ on VF's dyno with their intake, GIAC-X and a blown PCV. I swapped in all the updated parts, now I'm boosting at my proper amount, I'm going for an AWE TB soon............. and another run on the rollers.

I was pretty pleased with the numbers... the car really does feel night and day over stock.

Those are good numbers, I would like to see the Torque curve if you can get it. Thats where your money goes, F*cK HP, Torque is the big gain with the software. Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races. With a HP number like that, I'm don't need to worry, but it would be nice to know.

time to get a downpipe and intake. ;)

mike, how do you know if the car has a blow PCV

lacks power and if you have a CAI you get a really loud whistle noise

It's a 4th gear pull... so at about 3k RPM i'm putting down about 150whp... which equates to 262lbs torque... peak HP at about 5k RPM i'm putting down 224whp which equals about 235lbs torque.

it's just hard to get the exact curve without the computer knowing the exact RPM. Since you need HP and RPM to get torque, basically i looked at my car what the RPM was at the speed listed on the graph. Kind of a pain, next time i have it done i'll be sure he gets the RPM sensor clamped on correctly.

Torque is a detriment to FWD cars, makes them hard to launch. Torque can also be manipulated through gearing. Contrary to popular belief, horsepower wins races. Otherwise everyone would be driving new beetle TDIs.

Well torque may be bad for FWD cars, but 280 WTQ in a MK5, which is easy with bolt ons and software = PWNAGE in 3rd gear up. I have whipped the day lights out of cars with 100 more horsepower than me (E46 M3) due to shear torque with nothing more than my CAI and GIAC-X. With some finesse launching isn't bad. A TDi is a bad comparison, they have a ton of torque, but almost no HP. A modern turbo not only puts down good HP, but insane torque numbers. We are getting a 3 series diesel here, only 20 or so less HP than the 335, but another 120 ftlbs torque................

so with a blown PCV about where would you feel the loss in power? throughout the whole RPM range?

How much do these make stock?
