I called the SDTint that is up in the banner here, and I've seen it on a few posts. Now I've never personally gone and gotten my tint done on a car before, so I'm wonder if you could shed some light on why I would want to go there and spend the extra money, instead of the $99 penny saver shop..

I'm sure some of the reasons are quite obvious, I've just never gone through this before and I'm sure some of you have quite a bit.

the biggest reason is the kind of tint the shop uses. your $99 place uses just a cheap off the pepboys shelf brand tint. if you go to a better install place you get metal tint which doesn't purple after a few years and won't bubble. you also will get a dealer that precuts the tint based on computer drawings instead of just laying the tint on the window and tracing it with a razor.

Bubbles were my biggest thing. I had a Focus that the back window bubbled on and I had to take the tint off. I figured this would be the reasoning but I wanted opinions and reassurance that the extra money wasn't for nothing.

Andrew at SD Tint is awesome

its worth the $$ since he will guarantee his work ... its the quality of the work

tint material itself is inexpensive, its the labor thats expensive

quality shops take their time to apply the film

ill bet tint itself only costs about $20-40 in material, its the 2-3 hrs of labor that is what you want to worry about

some guy that works 2-3 hrs for $99 means he's doing a $40-50/hr job

$200 tint job means the quality of work he's doing is worth $75-100 hr

is your car worth it ... thats the question
