He doesn't owe me a significant amount of money but it is the point that when someone works for you, you PAY them.

3 weeks ago he contracted me to detail a vehicle for him in Manhattan Beach which we did with no problems and the owners of the vehicle loved it. He owes me $185 and he does not return any of my voicemails or emails. I've worked for him in the past and he paid, however this time he has decided to jerk me around. I know he is still alive as he responds quickly if you ask about detailing services.

I have his address which was on a personal check he wrote me and I'm to the point to visit him at "home" but haven't had the time to drive to Gardena.

small claims court or through a judge (i forget what it's called where it's just the judge, you and the defendant ie deadbeat) arbitration i think. but i'm not sure.

well, if you want to go to court, it will be the easiest and fastest way; check with your local jurisdiction, you may be able to go through a magistrate or some sort of mediator to get your money. . . (which would be faster and probably cheaper).

email channel 4 Anna Garcia & Joel Grover. they're consumer advocates.. if they find that David has done this before, your story might get on the news.
or email David and let him know your're going to the media and spreading this all over the boards. it may have an impact on him to know there's a lot of bad publicity going around with his name attached to it.
