So im wondering if an aftermarket sidemount intercooler and new piping is just as good as a FMIC? if i were to put one on i'd put some ducting from the front bumper back to the intercooler to help direct air to it. what do you guys think?

lots of ppl have the tyrolsport smic. I had it for a while as well. I have a eurojet FMIC now...I would have kept the tyrolaport smic. your smic now has ducting already. when you change it you will see.

yeah i know it has ducting already but the pipe is like crushed from the factory and could use better piping. do you notice a difference between the smic and the fmic?

Follow this link, read the two links lower down on the page; has all the testing Tyrol did on their SMIC. I've been running it for a year and a half now - LOVE it.

You Can Always Run 2 Side Mounts

not a good idea. more pressure loss I think. There was a little psi loss with the FMIC. so If I didnt love how the fmic looks on my bumper I would have sold it already and have gotten a tyrolsport smic. For the price you could even get a Water/Meth Injection and skip the intercooler upgrade altogether.

using a smic is good because you wont loss pressure like you might in a fmic...but it depends on your set up...the smic still is covered and doesnt get any ambient air flow...while a good fmic will...if your running a stock or chipped setup a smic will do fine...but for the money your going to spend on the smic you may want to look into a eurojet fmic or something similar...im running eurojets FMIC with my BT setup and couldnt be happier

my experience is with the ...

"boost factory"-Trytolsport- and the Eurojet side mounts

the i only two Front munts ive heard exteremly good reviews about are the Evolution mototrsports and Eurojet.

ive also seen great success wuith the Ebay "ADVAN" kit, but it requires some work to get it to fit right.

If your gonna run a high enough boost pressure id say the dual side mount s a good idea as well, id do it if it wasnt for the intake

x2 eurojet and evolution have good products...i guess in the end is if you want the look or not..and if your planning on upgrading your turbo in the future?
