Weird... I don't see it.

From your screencap though... get rid of it. It decreases usability.

Its like 40% opaque, you can still see through it ;)

Maybe if it wasn't there...

Its a text box. When a person is typing, there shouldn't be anything that could interfere with that. Some users will think its cool but its not worth it for the users it will annoy. Don't trust the guy with the HCI background though.

I could see it just fine with Internet Explorer and Firefox but not with Opera. I love it!
