Competent/knowledgeable shops in San Diego...

My car has been in hibernation. Driven it 500 miles since November 2007. Built the motor and the car ended up dying and wouldn't turn over. A combination of frustration and lack of desire to spend even more money on the car has left it in the garage for the last six months. I can't figure out what's up with it, and I suspect it's either one of two things: really simple, or really expensive. Looking for a shop that isn't afraid of a highly modified VW and is really knowledgeable about the 1.8t engine. I'm tired of driving a 1995 Sentra.

I'm located in Oceanside and will probably need to tow the car anywhere, so I'm more interested in the quality of the shop than the distance.

Not into VW Paradise...good for engine work, not for water-cooled VW work.

Tell them Rob sent you. Lon and some others on here have used them. They are in San Marcos and do good work for a good price.
