Ok... my MKIV is acting weird....

stuck Silverstar Ultras in.....

when my normal DRLs should be on, my headlights are on, but when I switch the headlight switch on, my DRLs turn on....

Any ideas???

Thanks....

P.S. I didnt put the bulbs in so not sure if the wiring got messed up...

SHouldn't be a wiring thing since the bulbs are just swaps . . . :bump:

So are the bulbs a $50 mistake??? are they built differently than a stock bulb?? I dont get why the lights would "reverse" like they did...

SOund like maybe a defect in the bulb.

Well i talked to a "car guy" here at work and he seems to think there is a ground issue somewhere or the wiring for the DRLs and the headlamps got switched..... I am going to have to experiment with them :(

do you have a euroswitch?

Nope... bone stock US car.... all we did was pop the stock bulbs out, replaced them with Silverstar Ultra H7's.... thats it.... we ONLY changed the head lights and nothing else... No high beams, no DRLs, etc...

maybe you put the wrong bulbs in. they could have fit but been the wrong ones. go to sylvanias website and see if you can lookup the exact part number for your car and see if they are the correct bulbs? just a thought

H7's are H7's.....

Off the top of my head, I don't remember if an H7 uses a separate filament for the DRL than the low beam. If so, I would say the wiring is reversed in the bulb. I am pretty sure you can't plug the bulb in wrong, manufacturers are pretty good about that sort of thing, so I would say it is a design issue and not an install problem.

youre probably confused and think that your city lights are you DRLs
