This is probably a question for Richard but...

Anyone know of some good beginner spots for top roping or bouldering? Beginner is the key word and preferably somewhere I won't need much hardware beyond quickdraws. Setting my own anchors would equal death given my experience level.

I'm thinking about hitting up the indoor climbing gyms again but I kinda want to get out onto some real rock this year. It really depends on time and the amount of money I'd have to spend to do so.

Santee . . . across from West Hills Hihg School is a popular spot.

Another place you may want to start is Solid Rock Gym in San Diego off Hancock . . . they have a nice indoor place . . . I would think indoor would be better for beginners.

I've been to Solid Rock and will be going back but probably to the one up here in North County. My first time at Solid Rock was over a decade ago in highschool. I was going fairly regularly for awhile back then. I've been every once in a blue moon since then.

I'm looking for a nice easy place to learn on some real rock. I just don't want anywhere I have to set my own protection or anything like that. I want nice easy established routes.

I think across from Santee the only recommendation to bring your own pads, or matress (As the white trash folks bring)
