Mileage and Motor Oil

How many miles are on your dial and what motor oil are you using?

I'm at 92k doing a Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W40 oil change this week.

Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W40

I run 0-40 synthetic in both MK5's, Valvoline. My MK3 loved the Sythetic for BMW's, ran like a champ. The theory of swapping to synthetic will cause oil leaks is an old wives tale, its a far superior oil and I have seen motors that always run synthetic leak at 20K miles, or not leak at 160K miles after a switch.

Lon, Let me know if you want some oil for your piggie, I have some laying around if your in the hood.

Used to use 0w40 Mobil 1 all the way until I put K04s in. It gets too hot with the k04s.
Now I use 5w30 Royal Purple and it runs about 2/3s colder then Mobil 1. Plus, it's purple :).
55k Miles now.
