ive being noticing lately when i pull into my drvieway and let the car idle theres this odd sqeaking whistle :sly: .....

It only comes around after ive been drving for a long time and it disappears under throttle.

If i was to rev it to say 3 RPM would sound somthing like this....(for lack of a clip)

"(up to 3k) Vrooom woosh....(1.5 RPM) srkt"

Any clue what it is?

(no CEL
35+k miles
Stock engine except for Modded box intake and APR R1)

Open the hood and have a listen. You're lucky it happens at idle, it should be easy to diagnose.

Accessory belt tensioner would the be the first suspect on my list.

Put on your gloves and grab the exhaust and see if the sound goes away. Its hard to find noise sources in an engine bay so its a pretty hands on experience.

You can also try using a long handle screwdriver to check for whine from things like the tensioner. Put the tip on the tensioner and put the handle to your ear. The screwdriver will transmit the vibrations so you can tell if thats what is making the noise.

Beyond that, you can buy a mechanic's stethoscope for a few bucks at the autoparts store. For nothing, you can just stick one end of a piece of vacuum line in your ear and use the other end to listen around in your engine bay. You may look a little silly but it works.

Just make sure you aren't wearing any loose clothing climbing around a running engine.

Is this Marv Albert? haha. Love the Grandma's Boy reference.

My suspicion would start as well with that belt tnesioner.

Check all the clamps holding the pieces of the exhaust together. Then maybe spray some lube on the exhaust hangers just to eliminate that from possibly being the problem. I cant remember, do the stock exhausts have any heat shields around the cat and all? May even be a rock stuck in there somewhere, or the heatshield got a bit bent.
