I'm buying liqour, What kind to buy???

Ok,
So we normally don't have people at our house to drink anything other than occasional friends here and there. So we know what we all like to drink... (usually Sailor J. for the guys, and the ladies have some sort of vodka and coke, or Midouri Sour concoction)

But, for the wife's B-day party/BBQ we intend to have a good amount of people here and we'd like to have a basic supply of something that would allow the most variety of mixes... do you know what I mean?

We aren't trying to buy everyone's hard alcohol, but would like the simplest collection that allows for the most options. With that I ask...

What would be a good base of a few bottles to have ready?
What would be some good mixers, juices, sodas etc...
Any cool drinks are welcome to be submitted for consideration :D

Yeah, I had ideas, but needed to close in on something. Those in bold I'll be adding to the list.

Will prolly get some Jack but not likely SoCo (bad history)
Coke and Sprite, is def on the list already but Pineapple Juice and Fruit punch will now be the list as well! Also plan on having plenty of Red Bull and Rockstar on hand.

Malibu and Dole Orange, Strawberry, Banana . . . mix 1 to 1, shake and serve

Cold Vanilla vodka and frangelico . . . mix 1 to 1, add sprits of lemon. (good shot)(chocolate cake)

Tokyo Teas, and Mojito's are pretty popular and easy to make.

Chocolate martini's are usually pretty good too, but require more mixing.
