We used to have a lot of events on the photo gallery link but now there is only like 5 events. What happened to all of the other stuff?

The old way was using an aspx file that compiled a list of the folders and images each time ... which was a huge hit on the CPU ... so therefore, i prefer not to use that method
Waiting for a new gallery system to be implemented down the line. Hopefully when we redo the old server with linux, maybe we can implement new gallery code.

Hmmmm... You should take a look at the site you host for him. It's done nicely. Maybe he can help you, but I'm not sure. He will have his hands full the next 6-8 weeks. ;)

I have a PHP forum on my personal site that does exactly that Lon ... you upload the pics via FTP/SCP whatever and then it auto-recognizes the pics and directories, resizes the thumbs and the fullsize if you want and adds them to a database listing. So you really only take the hit on the initial load of the pics.
take a look if you care: http://www.creanium.net/photo_album/
