Sooooo... I have been losing coolant steadily, only after the car warms up or while driving. i noticed that with hard acceleration, it leaks faster ~ but its been bad enough that i needed to refill every morning and afternoon

Saturday I changed coolant reservoir, and while i was in there i had to replace the crank case breather hose i broke... then my leak got worse! i got to the spectrum meet from costa mesa and had a big puddle under my car at the meet

i don't see moisture on the components directly under the reservoir ~ and it leaves puddles on both the left & right sides

:stupid:

any advise?
(motor is an 99-AHA 2.8 30v w/ 180,000k on the odo)

water pump likes to leak on those. sits behind the timing belt. while yer in there you might as well replace the thermostat and belt if it hasn't been replaced lately.

oh yea i forgot to say that i had the water pump replaced with the timing belt components no more than 30,000 miles ago

doesn't hurt to check... see if there's gunky buildup or moisture around where the crank pulley is from underneath the car. still 30k miles is plenty of time for a waterpump to start leaking. otherwise check all coolant hoses especially at connections with hose clamps. with that big of a leak it shouldn't be too hard to find. i dunno if audi's have this problem but vw passats have problems with heater cores leaking as well. if that's the case, the passenger carpet should be damp

30K on the new pump is ripe for a leak if it was a shitty pump, I had one leak as low as 10K after replacement.

It was supposed to be oem but I wouldn't be surprised.

first things first i'll check around the water pump and update!

Meyle Water pumps are garbage.

The water pump is run off the timing belt, so since you're removing the timing belt, you're best to replace it.
We've got a full kit that has everything you need.
