I was wondering how many or you name your car. do you think its stupid to name a car. and if you do, what name did you choose and why.

I want to name my lady, but

i usually come up with a name just out of nowhere for my cars.. my first jetta (mk3) was phoebe (after phoebus: PHOEBUS (Gr. for bright, pure,), a common epithet of Apollo (q.v.). Artemis in like manner is called Phoebe, and in the Latin poets and their modern followers Phoebus and Phoebe are often used simply for the sun and moon respectively.) i dunno just off the wall

Names can be cool, just dont do the "gone in 60 seconds" naming a car after a chick thing. My car aint no bitch.

I'm with you there, not all cars are feminine. A car can be feminine or masculine. In the case of my my car, I'm quite sure she is a she. My last car was undeniably a male(a '86 civic si with a huge ego)

my first car was a 1970 el camino ss and his name was "boss" then i had a 1995 suburban and it's name was "big burb" or "blue burb" (yes it was blue) i still haven't named my new jetta.. just waiting i suppose :rolleyes:

my car got its name last night :) I got in and was waiting impatiently for the heat to warm up and I called my car Thumper not sure where it came form but I think it fits Thumper...rabbit...golf its a stretch but ......it my car I can name it what I want :)

My frist car (86 GTi) is named Tootie Cutie because the license plate starts with 2TQT... although her name has recently changed to hooptie...

My MK4 GTi is Cutie, Tootie Cutie's little sister!

I never named my Jetta... I only had it a couple of months before it was totalled.

And my Corrado was called POS because I hated that damn piece of sh!t...

Stinky... cause there's a tiny leak on one of the valve cover gaskets and it occasionally drips on the exhaust maniifold... and it stinks.

but that's only when I slow down enough to actually smell it.

my cousin has names like "the red rhino" for the minivan, or "My N*gga Charles"/"Mein Schwarzes Freund Karl" for his black E36 325i.
