So check this out,
Tuesday morning my roommate and I go to my car to go to work (we commute) and my car is gone! So the first thing I think is maybe it was towed for some lame reason. I ask management if they had it towed and they said no. So I decide to get to work and deal with it then. My roommate and I walk over to his car,........ drum roll...... his car is GONE too!! WTF?!?!
So we call the cops,... they fill out a report and tell us that they have never seen this kind of thing before. I'm 99% sure I know who did it and explain to the officer who we think it is and why. But the officer doesn't even care; He didn't even ask the front office for the security camera videos that would have shown the whole thing. I'm pissed!!! Someone on this forum made a reply to a negative comment I made about cops and asked who I would call if my car was stolen,... my reply was "that's what good insurance is for", and I stick to that comment to this day!!
I have to hire a P.I. to investigate this one..... Lazy cops! I don't really care about the car being gone,.. What I care about is that my roommate and I were targeted and the cops don't care.... I know who did it and they won't even question the people even though they live upstairs from me. But if they wound up dead I would be the first person for them to question. Fat lazy bastard cops!!! (And I have every right to feel that way!)
Luckily I have over $10k in receipts insurance will cover

Get a copy of the video tape yourself. The officer will forward his report to a detective. You should have gotten a crime report number when he took your statement. You will probably have to be proactive in getting in contact with the detective, they are REALLY busy. If you know who stole your car, see if you can locate it. Don't attempt to make contact, but call the Police.

All my pics were on my laptop,... the power cable was in the car so it's dead:(
The plates said "T dubn"
It was a silverstone grey MkIV 1.8t Jetta with limo tint in the back and Motegi MR7's 17"
with F/R neuspeed swaybars (red) custom CF tail lites, shorty aluminum antena, no body kit, single tip exuast, and lowered on Bilstien shocks, the front vents had the black plastic parts removed
That's it for a visual descript. The engine was really where all the parts were.
Oh, my roommate's car was a 97 Honda civic with no plates, beat up and not worth the effort to find, he does't care. He's buying a TL next week.

THis is horribel and very believible. My friend had a 99 Honda civic stolen. I found it three days later in a CHURCH parking lot two blocks away from my house. This is by a park that cops frequent on their patrols. It seemed as if cops don't really put the effort in to finding stolen cars. When I bought my New Nissan, they said the odds of getting back a stolen car is slim to none, at least without Lojack.

One other thing. I live in a gated complex with only 1 entance and 1 exit. Both have 1-way spikes, and there is a camera for both. I obtained the video for that nite and it showed nothing for that nite. The idots forgot to keep track of wich video is wich. Well, untill now that is.
I know for a fact the my car was towed away. There is no way they could have started it with the way i set it up. I was hoping the video would show a tow truck taking my car away. Then i could get the name of the company the truck was from........... so much for that

sorry to hear that mahn....my DSM was jacked earlier this yr an they stripped my other DSM while they were at it. It was found completly stripped of over 11k in PERFORMANCE mods, big turbo ect ect. And it was tagged all over...couldn't the cops track who did it, yes, did they, NO. Cops don't do shit but give us tickets and meet at starbucks.
My jetta now has a clutch lock and will be recieving a momo steering wheel with quick release hub, I suggest this for anyone that doesn't have airbags or willing to get a lil $15 fix it ticket if the cops see it. They can't jack shit if they can't steer nor get the clutch engaged.
Good luck finding the bastards.

Yup, I'll do that with the next car,... Although i might get a non-Euro this time around. I'm tired of paying top dollar for parts that should be 1/2 what we get charged. Like 1k for an FMCI,... I'm done getting raped. But than again, nothing drives like a German car
