I am looking at getting an Xterra. Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with them, or has any advice on what to look for. TIA!

probably. I want 4x4, with under 45k miles
Well they have the 1st gen X, and the newer 2nd gen X, the 1st gen has the old, but bullet proof 3.3L, the new one has the 3.5, which is much better fuel economy wise. If your gonan wheel it, look for ones without side curtain bags, from what I know, on the trail, on a side slope, if it thinks its gonna roll over, it blows the bags, even if its not going to roll over. My dad works for Nissan/Infinity N.A. and his demo is an offroad package X, great truck, but no matter which you pick, they are all pretty cheap to run, rock solid and reliable, the 3.3 drinks more gas though, like 11MPG if you have a heavy foot. thats what my frontier use to get.

yea, well the 3.3 wasnt enough for me so got a 04 f150 5.4, but if you can find a 3.3 S/C im sure itll be great

The wife's got a 2005 and it's freakin' Awesome!!! Haven't had any issues with it at all and we've been traveling all over the place in it. Definitely 2 thumbs up for reliability, quality, and fun :tup2:

Well as long as you are prepared to pay the price for gas then it is a great time to buy an SUV actually. Tons of inventory and places are definitely willing to deal. Just don't come back and complain about poor mileage and how much it costs to fill the tank ;)

The gas it what it is. If you buy your SUV for what it's made for, it's whatever on the gas. I paid $70.80 for 91 octane ($4.769/gal) to fill my Pathfinder (same engine in the Xterra I think, but a 4.0L version of it). But that tank of gas lasts me a month or longer (the last tank lasted 34 days, and really that was only 3/4 tank because I fill up at 1/4 tank), 237.7 miles to be precise (avg. 16-18 mpg). I rarely drive the Pathy to work, maybe 2x week max; otherwise, I just use it when I need the space or am going hiking, etc.

I get pretty close to the same in my V8 Pathy, but I love it though.

Agreed. If you really want an SUV/sport utility, now is the time. Gas is high, and it's only going to get higher. Have fun with your life and get what you want out of it.

Yeah I got 3500 off the Pathfinder and that was back in Jan.
