350hp, Supercharged V6 to be exact.

After a report yesterday (http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/24/report-2010-audi-s4-to-get-supercharged-v6/) that the next S4 would be benefiting from a supercharger, Volkswagen AG's powertrain head, Wolfgan Hatz, presented the automaker's new 3.0-liter TFSI engine at the Vienna Motor Symposium. According to Auto Motor und Sport, the new engine will be fitted with a blower and putting out around 350 hp when fitted to the next generation S4. The supercharged six is expected to return better fuel mileage than its V8 counterpart and will also be fitted to the refreshed A6, due out towards the end of this year, although output will be reduced to 290 hp and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. Additionally, both models will benefit from a Magna-sourced sports differential that will migrate to the Q5 and S5 down the line. No timeframe was provided about the release of the S4, but we'd expect to see the A6 replacement in Paris, with the S4 debuting at the LA Auto Show in November.

look at it this way, you wont need to buy bigger/newer turbos to get the boost up

just make the pulley bigger

the power increase would come from a smaller pulley ^^

Yeah but you can get 4x the stock power from upgraded turbos (read: 700+awhp b5 s4s on gt turbos).

The same can't be said about s/c pullies and chips.

Who needs that much power? Me, for one :D.

You'd be suprised, when I actually GET my fueling I won't be running rich anymore and I will be getting 24 city/32 freeway.

That is, of course, if I can't retrain my heavy...very heavy, led foot. :D

If I were to start from scratch, I would def get a b8 Avant, that FSI looks good, and if 1.8t b5 with gt28rs turbos are keeping up with my Stage 2+(3-) S4, I an only imagine how much better the 2,0FSI will do with that kind of turbo.

It's still an M5. And, imo, the much better looking one of the two. Engine wise, that's a different story; but the e39 just looks tits to me.
