Question is: do you have the money to keep it maintained?

JETTAone420
04-29-2008, 01:56 PM
i will...!

and also i just found out that the state is gonna be paying us close to 1k$/month to take care of my g'ma. well my aunt was gettin the money but she never did crap or did what was required. so my mom and aunt faught it and now its going to us.(which it should of in the first place since my g'ma has been living with us the whole time) so that means i get an extra 500$ a month since im usually the one here who makes lunch/dinner for her. and my mom takes her to her dr. appts.

Ha! I think the record holder is 23k miles completely stock and taken care of.

Well, there are MANY weak points.

All Suspension Parts (control arms, tie rods, etc about every ~40k miles, A LOT less if you are lowered [mine go about every 15k because of my spacers and how dumped I am])
Turbos
Vac Lines/Lots of boost leaks

Pretty much the whole car is a weak point, besides the actual block. That thing is as strong as a diesel block.

An S4 can be $10k; but it it actually will cost you $45k (joke).

Have fun.

I'm going strong on 60k with my suspension (installed @ about 120k)... haven't had to replace anything but a blown shock due to negligence. (Using the Febi-Bilstein control arm set, with Meyle tie rods ~ on race springs)

well thats the one im gunning for. primarily cuz the low miles, color, and its already get basic mods i would do to it anyways.

The Nogaro example looks good, but I wouldn't be surprised if you end up changing the DP's, exhaust, and chip after a short while anyway. But at least you have some aftermarket examples you can sell to reduce the out-of-pocket cost.

Reason is, those APR parts offer a little more power but you can find more with other parts: eg, Autospeed or LaBree DP's, a true dual exhaust, and a GIAC or EPL Chip.

Also, I have the same suspension setup as the Nogaro and I hate it. I'm ditching it soon to go with a good set of coilovers.

The mileage is hard to pass up, and the year is good too. If you look into that one further, check the build date and/or try to find out if it's actually a 2001.5 or 2002 (build dates 9/00 to 7/01) . Those MY's have fewer problems than earlier models (no F-hose, bigger oil supply line to the passenger turbo, ESP, etc).

There was a Laser red coupe with the Sports Package (alcantara seats, aluminum trim, chrome mirrors) which put a tingle in my pants.

Sorry for the long reply.

Well I am pretty damn dumped for a b5, plus I run 25mm spacers in back and 10mm upfront; which really screw with the C/As, not to mention the wheel bearings (spacers only).

I replaced my C/As at 35k and it's 55k now and they are in need of replacing again (OEM of course, this time I will probably go Febi)

How do you figure spacers mess with the bearings??? I have over 150K with 10mm Spacers on my car---no problems yet. It is how you take care of your car man---all there is to it. I have all most 200K on my car---only replaced the Tie Rods once, and replaced the upper control arms one. If your car is set too low---which most are---going for the ricer effect I guess, the yes you will ruin shit on your car...

negatory on a g60....i need the backseat space! lol

as for the s4's... well as long as i drop around 7-10k on the downpayment for the loan i can easily afford up to 18k $$ car (and thats with my 2k set aside for woopsie dasies!)

Laser Red is just as sexy, and more rare then nogaro blue. I would take a LR in a heart beat if I could.

the red one looks good Ted, as long as its never been hit, then you should be gold. If your smart, you would call him, have him take it to Audi of Phoenix, and have them go over it and see what it needs, then adjust your price accordingly or see if he is willing to fix the stuff if you buy it, It will cost you $150, but could save you thousands. If he doesn't want to do that, then something is fishy, pass.
