What would be a good camera to have all the time? Something that I can keep in my glovebox.

Good quality pics and decent video for like Google Video or Youtube. Night-vision video would be a plus...

Obviously there's no advanced point and shoot cameras out there that have the pic qualities of a D80/90 or a Rebel XT/XTi, maybe there is?

I'd just a like a good camera I could get some really decent shots and vids on for those random moments of epicness.

Price range: Nothing above $300

I believe Office Depot sells a Canon S5IS for like $299 and it seems pretty nice...

got my canon zr830 mini dv for $150ish refurbed

works awesome, i used it to shoot the irvine g2g video... quality is really really amazing... well the original version is, but youtubing it cuts like more than 50% of the quality

Have you tried clicking the "High Quality" mode on youtube? It seems to bring back the quality of the vid noticeably.

I'll look into it.. the Canon G9 also sounds really nice.. but not so sure since it's ~$350.

If your just going to keep it in the car, i wouldnt spend more than $150

check out www.slickdeals.net for some Canon deals, the SD750 looks pretty good

Yeah.. I was thinking of that... Hmm, a cheap video camera w/ night vision would suffice too.

And very cool site! Thanks Lon!
