Hey guys, I'm looking to get another digital camera. I'm looking for one that is somewhat inexpensive (maybe >$150) and takes half way decent videos with sound. Something cheap would be nice so if something happens to it on a trip, it won't really matter. Anything like this exist? Looking for some recommendations.

I'm looking at a Kodak ZD710 that's 7.1 mp and video specs are 640x480 @ 30fpm.

DPReview has an amazing guide for all brands/levels of cameras. I would check them first for any potential camera. DCResource has a great online forum for newbies and professionals alike. I'm not too familiar with Kodak products, but if I could give some input...the only Kodak I ever used was terrible (picture quality, sturdiness, etc).

Check this out. I found this link on www.bensbargains.net (another great deal finder website).

If you're looking at Kodak cameras, Kodak Z8612 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830170151&nm_mc=AFC-Bensbargains&cm_mmc=AFC-Bensbargains-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA)

It's got image stabilization and a 12x OPTICAL zoom...both pretty good features. I know it's a little more expensive, but I think you'd be getting a better camera. Check out all the cameras on newegg.com. They seem to have pretty good deals.

I appreciate all the help and links, guys. I'll be doing some searching through the links you guys posted up.

640x480 at 30 fps seems to be a standard on most of these digi cameras. Would that be pretty good? Would I want to be able to record in a specific format?

If you want to record video, get a video camera. A $200 video camera will often perform better than a $500 digital photo camera with video features. 640x480 is pretty crappy resolution... but for most people, that's fine.

Yeah, thinking about it last night, I think I may go for the Canon DZ830 camcorder like oc-audica has. I think I'll get that and wait to get a nice digi camera. Either way, I'll still keep the tips and links you guys posted in mind, so thank you!
