What do air force noobs do when at war?

Do they go in like army/marines? Do people
in the AF only fly jets?

noobs? im going to assume that youre asking what people do right after basic training, and not assume that youre trying to be a dick:)

no people in the air force do not just fly jets. to get one pilot in the air there are alot of other people working behind the scenes just so that one plane can fly. there are positions where people carry guns, file paperwork, work on machines, work on nuclear material, transport, structural engineering. the list goes on and on and on.

if youre asking about after basic training what happens is you go to tech school to learn your job, then you are given a 1 year base assignment somewhere. after your 1 year assignment you are now able to be potentially deployed. but deployment doesnt mean just iraq theres alot of other places one can be deployed.

my dad works with air force personnel with boeing and those people are 16-18 years in the service without ever being deployed.

Not trying to be a dick.
noobs = new people?

I never understood what the AF people do other then
something to do with flying. So when you're in the AF, it's not
really about fighting like the army, but working to get pilots in the air?

mmm not exactly alot of it has to do with pilots but there are alot of other things going on too.

alot in the cyberspace and outer space arena's too.

when it comes down to it i guess you could categorize the air force as being focused in support and defense. the branches now work together for a common goal now. the air force isnt about a direct contact...more like blow the enemy to hell from an hc-130 spectre gunship :D or an a-10 warthog for close air support...or a uav used for recon/combat or training counter snipers to defend our bases.

I really hope your joking.... My brother has been screwed by the AF for his entire enlistment.

The Army actually has more aircraft in their inventory. The AF has BIG aircraft is the difference. Lots of logistics, support in the AF ranks.

Get the right job and its a career for life. Get the wrong one and wait out the enlistment.

I don't know much about the Air Force, other than the AF guys hated when Marines came around, b/c the AF chicks gave the Marines all the attention ;).

Really tho... from what I can see, the AF is why we get to spend such rediculous amounts of money on things before it finally trickles down to the people who will actually make use of it. AF pays all the overpriced R&D prices for technology then lets everyone else have it after... lol.

Ok, as you can see, I don't know much about AF. But hey, good on you for making a decision and committing to it. I don't think many can go wrong with serving our country for a few years while they get their bearing on life.

Hell, did it and found out, being a Marine just might be what was meant for me.

lol af chicks. meh not my thing really, when im in my first 2 girlfriends will be my working out like a fiend and my car that i want to buy...then the car itself!

no time for women just time for bodybuilding/fight training and the nismo spec 350z!

and i have a girlfriend anyway:p

when i had my gym membership my life was spent like this: wake up, work, come home for dinner, go to gym, come home and sleep. i gained from 140-180lbs in about 8 months but also got a little fat. but i would totally do it again! my goal is to weigh 200 lbs at 8% body fat. and also do mma/fight training. and thats all my free time will be...maybe i'll leave my base once or twice a month.

So was i when i first enlisted. That don't don't mean the AF sux. People get screwed in the other branches too. Its just the luck of the pick. Plus, it's only one enlistment. After i re-inlisted, i finally got my job i trained for.
