What up guys, I just had a question about my fiances' BMW. I hear everyone talking about e36, e46 and so on. What does that mean? We've had the car for a while but I didn't pay attention to it before because it wasn't a truck but now I got into the euro scene and I want to fix hers up a bit. It's a 93 3.18is and I beleive the headgasket is blown and the interior is getting pretty bad. Is there a site someone can direct me to where I can read up on this? Thanks alot....

Well, not that I wanna drive you away from this site but http://www.e36fanatics.com/ might be a good source for suggestions in addition to the beemer guys on this board.
E36 and E46 refer to the platform the cars are built on. But I dunno if the 318 was built on the same E36 platform as the other 3 series cars (325, 328, M3) of that year. Of course I'm not a BMW expert.

if your from the san diego area you can always check out AutoBahn Parts in El Cajon. They sell everything you could ever need for bimmers.

Also try www.bimmerforums.com
There is a lot of great info on that site.
Your 318 is an e36 chassis (92-98 body style)
e46 is 99 and up
