So here's what happened (and he walked away with a broken collar bone from the seat belat and stitches from metal scraps flying!) he's an aspiring snowboarder and travels back and forth to Mammoth alot. A week ago Friday night he was northbound on the 395 just outside of Ridgecrest. Two semi's (singlefile) are headed towards him, just as he is adjacent to the grill on the 1st one the 2nd one pulls out into his lane to pass the 1st one! Thankfully he made the right choice and tried to go down the middle (inbetween the 2 trucks) and not dump it off in the right shoulder. The 2nd semi drove OVER his A4! The axles sheared off the semi and it toatalled also. As you can see from the pics, he is lucky to be alive, lucky he was driving a safe car, lucky he made the right choice, lucky he did not have a passenger. As you can imagine I was shocked, but so damn thankful he was in that car and not some other! Thank you Audi!!!

I'm figuring out how to post the pics, one min heh

Wow, he is a very lucky guy to survive that period, let alone with very minor injuries, best wishes for him and your family.

yes, the drivers stopped. yes, the lawyers have been called. The driver at fault actually tried to lie to police that he pulled out to pass behind another truck, ashole. Like he could've avoided one semi and then gotten run over by a second! Cops have my nephew's statement and it's been backed up by the other driver= only 2 trucks, not 3...thank goodness

Glad he is ok, Julie. Yea, a little bit of a drop off there just North of Ridgecrest. Probably would have rolled it. He made a good choice. I don't know if I would have made the same. Good call.

WOW.....definitely someone has other plans for him. Glad he made it out safely....thats a pretty crazy call he chose as well. Guess you would have had to be there to make the choice and looks like he made the right one.

How the hell did he get out of that train wreck with just a broken collarbone?

Mad props to Audi's safety dpt for making the car's frame like they did and allowing your nephew to walk away.

Thanks all for the replies!
He's doin' real good! Yup, somebody lookin' out for him, 'cause I have drivin' skills and shooting down the center of 2 semis is not the typical path (to say the least!), but thank goodness he chose it! If he had shot out for the shoulder the semi would have destroyed him, can't even think of that happening!

Some answers to a couple questions-

Someone said he looked familiar, his name is Chad Cammack ( I know him as my nephew the aspiring pro-snowboarder and he's pretty damn good!)
The rims are not yours! The rims are off my old B5 S4 = )

He's now looking at a 2002+ Avant = )

yup, it looks like I'm missing the pic of the drivers side. It's pretty impressive to see how the A pillar held up and going entirely down the drivers side.........I love Audi :D

BTW, did I mention I'm looking for a newer Audi too? ;)

Hey Jewel... I grew up with Chad at San Clemente and went boarding last year with him and the years before. Glad to hear he is ok. I saw the pic, and noticed it looked like him and that he still had an Audi. So glad to hear hes alright. He's been killing it lately snowboarding, glad to know he'll still be able too

Did ya hear about his gold in Romania at their countries biggest comp? He had a fantastic time there, really cool experience for him :D
I think he'll be sticking with Audi for a long time now!
