How do you celebrate christmas?

My family tradition is we usually have a christmas dinner on Christmas eve and open our presents on midnight. On Christmas day we go to Mass and just spend quality time with the immediate family. This year, however, is going reverse. We're spending Christmas on christmas day and having christmas dinner here with the whole family (cousins, aunts, uncles).

we gamble at my house and eat a dinner identical to thanksgiving. then we pass out gifts at midnight.

My new aunt just brought this thing to the family that they have the kids reinact the birth of Christ and the three kings. Why cant she just leave our familys' old tradition alone? Which was have dinner and one of our uncles comes in as Santa Claus and passes out presents at midnight.

i figured i'd explain my answer a little...

i don't celebrate christmas cause i really have no reason to. i'ts not because of religous reasons, more for the reason i don't get along with some of my family. and the ones i do get along with live too far away to celebrate with. i don't really like how it is a commercialized holiday, and has lost its true meaning. i'd be totally content with just spending quality time with friends and family, presents are overrated.

i do feel bad for the fact that both my roommates got me something, i thought they knew i didn't celebrate it that way, now i feel obliged to get them something in return.

FAMILY!!!! Thats what Christmas is all about to me, I was brought up to believe it is a celebration of Christs birth and we all still do a prayer, but it's all about being with your family. Last night was my turn to host the party, house was full of family, brothers, sisters, neices, nephews, crying, laughter, drunks....etc..etc...look forward to it every year! I'm still cleaning up.....Merry Christmas

Each Christmas is different the last few years. Since all of us (me and my siblings) are grown and have significant others, we have to juggle a lot. Usually we go to my brothers' wifes' parents house on Christmas Eve after mass (though I don't go to mass anymore). Then Christmas morning Rob, Haley and I do our Christmas presents. Then we go to his parents house for breakfast and presents with his family. Then we go to my brothers house and have dinner and presents with them. It's always a juggle each year, and there is drama each year. This year was no different, but luckily it didn't envolve us :) And we had an excuse to miss Christmas Eve because of my surgery. :)
