A few weeks ago a friend of mine asked me what I wanted for christmas, and my reply to him was "What I want for christmas is something you can't give me" and I told him about my grandmother and how she's in the hospital and pretty much all the details thinking that my grandmother wasn't going to make it. And a few weeks ago, I really thought she was not going to make it with the condition she was in.

Well, part of my christmas wish or what I wanted was to have my grandmother with us for christmas or that she would still be living for christmas. The past 2 weeks my grandmother has been making incredible improvments. She's getting better and better everyday and they have transfered her numerous times as well. The past few days, i've been getting updates through the phone seeing how Lola has been doing. They of course had to tie her arm down because seh wants to take the tubes out of her mouth and such.

And today I found out that they were able to safely take her tubes out! I asked my lil sister if she's able to talk, but she's not. She is however, making a lot of body expressions. My grandmother will be in the hospital for christmas, but she will be alive! I can't wait to see her again. What crushes me the most about all this is that I don't have a car to get to her and it hurts a lot to hear my mom say "why" everytime I ask her if we can go visit my grandmother... I'll find my way up there, even if it means that i have to steal my sisters car (not litterally).

I'm in a similar circumstance.

My grandfather has been pretty much bed ridden for the last month or so. I haven't seen him since last year at Christmas. It was his favorite holiday, and the family really came together around him.

Well we were able to make arrangements with the care center he's staying at to come home for a few hours. It's really gonna be an emotional christmas, since much of our family hasn't seen him since he got really sick. Abotu to head over there in a few hours, we'll see how that goes.

Merry Christmas to Pia and all the other Socal Euro Family members.
