Help the Earthquake Victims in Sichuan, China
On May 12th, 2008, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Sichuan province in China, the home of more than 100 million people, and the endangered giant pandas. By May 15th, 2008, the official death toll has climbed above 19,509, while thousands more are still missing, many more are wounded.
On the first day of the devastating earthquake, the ACCEF board and management decided to initiate a special fund to aid earthquake victims, families, and on-going relief and reconstruction efforts: the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake Relief Fund.
There are 3 ways to make tax deductible donations. Please make sure you provide us with your name and address.
(1) Write a check payable to “ACCEF”, drop the check to Jing Zeng, our Sichuan Earthquake Coordinator. Her phone number is: 858-268-7010.
Her office address is: 7323 Convoy Court, B1111, San Diego, CA 92111.
Mail checks to (make sure to use new 42 cent stamp):
ACCEF, P.O. Box 723008, San Diego, CA 92172.
Make on-line donations via PayPal at www.accef.net (http://www.accef.net/)
Please indicate your preference based on 3 options:
directly support the families who lost children (see separate Policy and Protocol);
China Red Cross (will wire to China Red Cross US $ account);
Others (please specify, such as building school);
If you do not specify, we will use for option 1).
Your donation including company match will be 100% used for the Earthquake Relief purpose. 1st batch fund $10K already in China. We will wire fund once a week. Currently our local volunteers are conducting survey in Beichuan, Dujiangyan and other most devastating areas, and will make distribution as soon as possible.
The American Chinese Culture and Education Foundation (ACCEF) is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious, national charity organization that has been granted 501(c) 3 tax exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service. All your donations are tax-deductible. A receipt of your donations will be issued and mailed to you along with a Thank You note.
