For now. Rental FTMFW!
I have to say, though; it's not that bad of a car. I mean it's a shitty Chrysler car (go in one and you will see what I mean about quality), but its got 170hp (the R/T version surprisingly has 240) and it's got satalite radio. Plus it's big, gets good MPG, AND its only $28/day to rent.

Wait.. i'm confused.. so is that the sebring? The rear passenger windows are throwing me off making me think it's a "Charger"
But yeah.. the interior quality of all Chryslers are like rental cars...
its the mini charger that took place of the shit canned Neon. Nice, you are paying for this Kevin or the other drivers insurance? Where did your car end up going? I was going to suggest you take it to Keyes Audi and let their body shop do it.

MY insurance has a rental policy on it, so I'm only spending about half and keeping the other half. The cars at WMS right now, quite frankly they are the only place I trust my car with. Plus they know what I want, so I might even get some fancy things out of this. Who knows. The insurance claims havn't been looked at yet, so nothing has come of it yet, he will blame me for being a kid, which is the first thing he practically did when he got out of the car and I will blame him for making a left in front of me...
Does anyone know if it's legal or illegal to make a left over a double yellow, even if there is a driveway they are going in to? This is on a non-residential road.

Correct.
A nasty 2.4 4-banger. :D Back to my FWD roots.
You would have to look up the vehicle code, if he was pulling into a driveway, i think it may be legal, BUT, he is in clear violation of failure to yield.
Kevin, I forgot to ask (or I asked and don't remember!) did a police officer come out? Usually the officer will cite them at the scene and it should be in the police report.

We both waited about 2.5 hours and kept calling the Police, and they pretty much eventually told us no cops was coming out because no one was injured.
Quoting CVC 21460
(a) When double parallel solid lines are in place, no person driving a vehicle shall drive to the left thereof, except as permitted in this section.
(b) When the double parallel lines, one of which is broken, are in place, no person driving a vehicle shall drive to the left thereof, except as follows:(1) That the driver on that side of the roadway in which the broken line is in place may cross over the double line or drive to the left thereof when overtaking or passing other vehicles.
(2) As provided in Section 21460.5.(c) Either of the markings as specified in subdivision (a) or (b) does not prohibit a driver from crossing the marking when (1) turning to the left at any intersection or into or out of a driveway or private road, or (2) making a U-turn under the rules governing that turn, and either of the markings shall be disregarded when authorized signs have been erected designating offcenter traffic lanes as permitted under Section 21657.
(d) Raised pavement markers may be used to simulate painted lines described in this section when the markers are placed in accordance with standards established by the Department of Transportation.
Guess it's legal.

NO, it is not legal. I have actually seen someone ticketed for that down here in SD. I believe the only time you can do it is if the inside of the two lines is broken, or if it is to turn in to a private driveway. From your description, it sounds like neither apply.
you need to go down and file a report then, its in your best interest, trust me, due to the $$$ involved, the guy being pissy with you, and the law has been broken.

to my understanding a double yellow is supposed to be treated as tho it is an island and if it truely were an island you wouldnt be able to cross over that now would you

So i went to the police station and they wouldn't let me file a claim because no one was injured and CA law is that as long as you swap insurance information, they can't do anything about it. I asked if I could file a report regardless and they said no.

I believe you have to report accidents to the DMV as they exceed $750 in property damage or if any person suffers injury.
