Went riding today on my '97 CBR 600 and went out to a local lake. There is one road here that is pretty much abandoned and dead ends. It's probably 3/4 mile long, straight and flat. It's as close to a closed course as you can get next to going to a drag strip. I get down to the end and there a dozen guys hanging out. The M5 (E39), an EVO 9, Pearl White C4 A6, Rousch Supercharged Mustang GT, half a dozen bikes and a quad. The Mustang raced the M5 and beat him so I wanted a piece of the action. I've always wanted to race an M5 against my bike. We went from a roll I was in 2nd gear at probably 6k rpms. I pulled immediately and got probably a 4 car length lead by the end of the road. I hit 120ish. Good times. My bike isn't exactly new or the fastest thing on the road but it's quick. 4 car lengths isn't that far really. Verdict..... those M's are fast!!! :D

M5's are fastest in 3rd-5th

so, i would say above 90mph is where its sweet spot is

but nice :)

Yeah if we did a roll from 90 I'd probably be screwed then. :p

i wouldnt say high end RPM wise

but definitely european cars tend to be highway speed cars, rather than 0-60 drag racer cars

I thought street racing was but sine this was pretty much on a closed course of sorts, I thought it would be ok to post.
