what would make an axle go in 1500 miles in 3 weeks??
just had it replaced and went up to SF and back and now 3 weeks since it's been replaced it's already locking up and i really don't want to have to replace it again. is it something with my car? the mechanic? or the part he chose to use?

could be.
if the drive flanges have alot of play, and by alot, the tranny would likely be leaking, that could cause the falures.
Is the car lowered excessively?
Otherwise its probably the cheap quality axle.
Is it a Kragen lifetime warranty axle?

i honestly have no idea..
i don't even know what the drive flange is..
i just had the wheel bearing replaced about 2 weeks ago..
before that my wheel moved about an inch either way if that would do anything?
it was pretty scary actually haha i would accelerate and my wheel would jerk to the right and when i put the clutch in to shift to 2nd it would go back to normal and i could not turn left or i my car would drift to the right and then catch and jerk left.

i have the h&r race springs in the stock suspension but it only lowered it like an in and a half maybe 2 inches.
Pony up for a good OEM axle and try that, like I said in another thread, the Chinese wood and bailing wire axles are junk, anytime you pay less for the WHOLE AXLE then VW wants for just the boots is a good clue. VW warranties all parts sold over the counter for 24 months I believe.

check your motor mounts. i had the same problem part of it was the cheap axl. with the motor mount driver side it make's it pull on the axl. If the cars hella low and you have a stock sway bar and or end links. i changed all that and haven't had a problem yet . I got wrw endlinks and a better axl and it seems fine now are you getting that nice wobble? buying a sway bar can be a waste of money just buy adj endlinks. if its hella low . cant think of anything else?

aright cool thanks guys!
it's replaced now so far so good..
i'll check the motor mounts for sure anyways and get those taken care of if anything's wrong with um and if i still have problems i'll get the OEM axle or maybe one that could be better? is there any that are like bullet proof?
