So I went down to SD today and picked up a neuspeed p-flo intake from a buddy of mine. We installed everything and everything went smoothly. I was driving on my way back and when I exited, I felt some power loss. I was at a light and when the light turned green, I started to go(driving normally) and it felt like I had no boost at all. I could hear all this air being sucked in, but the car wasn't going anywhere. Also, it felt like all the air being sucked in was coming into the cabin. I dunno if that is normal. Then, I got a cel  I really love my new intake, but this sucks. I checked everything when I got home and everything was installed correctly. I think it might be my diverter valve and was wondering if anyone else has had these issues or knows what it might be. Also, if someone could bring a vagcom to the next oc in n out gtg. Mike, if you're gonna be there, please bring your vagcom. Anyone know what it could be? Diverter valve?

Well, an intake can't necessarily cause a boost leak, since it's before the turbo compressor. If anything, a faulty DV can cause a boost leak.

Are you sure you have the MAF installed and oriented correctly (ie. not backward).

also, with aftermarket intakes you will notice a small/tiny loss of power in the lower RPMS, but you will gain power in the mid-range/top area

I would check out the codes asap

if your DV is blown, it should be making a noticeably loud hissing noise around 3k rpm and you will feel as if your car isn't "boosting" as it should

Something is definitely wrong, and I think I do hear that hissing noise around 3k, thats about when it looses boost. I feel like at lower rpms, I have a little boost, but then it completely loses it. Could it be a pin-hole tear? Maybe letting me get some boost, then lose it?

I don't want to end up having a forge dv, since I don't have the money right now. But, would it be okay if I replaced it with the latest oem valve?(I think they are on "G" right now). I have an early 07 so I probably have one of the older dv's anyway.

yeah your DV is definitely blown

inspect the DV, there should be a tear on the diaphram (orange rubbery part)

you should be okay replacing the stock DV with an OEM "G" DV. my stock "G" DV (I have a 2007 as well, I'm pretty sure your DV was "G") lasted me 10k miles chipped with GIAC. good stuff

I just went with the Forge replacement but you'll be fine with the OEM DV

Can I inspect that part w/o getting under the car? Is there a way I can see it from up top?

nope, gotta jack the car up, get underneath and remove the DV (there are 3 bolts) and inspect it

Damn.. that sucks, you're not chipped are you? I heard that the newest DV is much stronger. And Edris read up on the forge DV in the vortex technical forums. Lots of people dont like it all that much..

apparently the OEM DV has its pros/cons, just like how the Forge DV has its pros/cons

for the record, I am enjoying my Forge DV and I definitely notice a difference between OEM and Forge

keep in mind though, the stock DVs are prone to failure, while the Forge is not. you should consider this when purchasing a OEM DV vs. Forge DV

unfortunately, I don't have a boost gauge but I can tell you that my butt dyno says that my car pulls a bit harder once full boost kicks in

All the drama over the Forge Valve on the 'Tex is not that it doesn't work, it is over the turbo spiking on the Forge. There are inserts you can pick up for around $5 to fix that problem. Like Dark said, the factory DV is prone to failure, the Forge isn't. To the OP, if you can spend the cheddar, look at the BSH DV. I just ordered one (waiting on back order). It uses piping specific to the P-Flow or V-Flow, and a Forge manufactured DV. The BSH also reroutes coldair back to the top of the intake, and corrects turbo spike issues.

definitely can't go wrong with the BSH DV kit. such a quality product

What was the cause/solution??

oh sorry haha It was my dv, and it was replaced this morning with an oem "g" valve. The one i had was a "C" valve. I will definately look into aftermarket solutions such as the forge or bsh products when I get chipped, but as for now, the latest oem one works great! Glad to have my boost back
