Air filter question...

I did search but did not find...sorry.

Is there any real difference in performance nd/or filtration between an oiled air filter and a dry one?

you mean like a k/n and an AEM dry flow?

becaise a K/N NEEDS oil otherwise it wont grab jack. a dry flow like AEM is made to filter without oil.

theres a difference in material, all i know is tha a dry flow is technically set it and forget it.

i have a k.n and it wroks fine for me...and i dont have to clean it for about 40,000-75,000 miles

other then that i dont think theres a notice able difference in flow

i've heard oiled filters arent good for the MAF cuz the oil eventually creeps up the intake and on to the sensor although i think the length of ur intake pipe might help prevent it needless to say after one blown maf a switched to the AEM Dryflow and i clean it every other oil change just cuz its not hard to do

thats what happened to my mkiv, i wenth through 4 maf sensors. so when it came to clean the filter on my p-flo, i went with aem dry-flow
