One of Vortex's fav flame suit, note the word "had". Who's had one on and how'd your car run? Not a recirculated BOV but a full atmospheric one.

i had and still have my greddy type rs bov running and it runs great.
a lot of people run without their mafs because thats what throws a code.
i've ran a long time with my bov, and my maf disconnected.
for me, i repeat, FOR ME, it has worked amazing.
some people cant even get their car running with it disconnected.
but mine runs amazing with out it.
its not a bad maf, just runs better.
i say try it,
but if you dont like it,
go back to a DV.

I bought my GLI with one installed. It went into limp mode a couple of times so I put an APR RI on there and it has been fine ever since.

the HKS ive seen works well...teh Greddy RS or whatever its called now is the only BOV i recommmned....and you HAVE TO have it recirculate...other wise..
CEL:tdown:.
i had a used greddy off a ued 20th...worked great until till the whistle got annoying then i swtiched to APR R1...:tup2: no complaints...its not as loud as say the forge...but it does its job

If you want one... get one.
There is enough information out there that you should know that your mileage may vary.

I had a Forge 001 on my old GTI. It worked fine. Never had a CEL, but I only used it for about 2 months. I only sold it 'cause I needed cash. HAHA.

Ive got a HKS, but it won't let me boost past 5 lbs with it on, Slapped on a forge 007 and it's letting me boost 11-13 lbs, WEIRD!!!

thats because your spring setup needs to be reconfigured.

im running a forge 004 on my BT setup, no CELs and it holds boost better than my DV did, i personally believe unless your running a big turbo you dont need a BOV, unless you want sound...but on a BT it may help you run better

How do I do that on a HKS SSQ?
