I once paid a chinese company to level a character for me. Blizzard realized something fishy was going on and banned the account. In total, about 300 dollars wasted. If this guy gets the ingame results he's looking for, he's safe with respect to not getting his account banned.

Keeping up with your friends is expensive... WoW and car modding both share that.

All true but the retarded part. How much is your time worth? 10-16 days x 24 hours per day is a lot of time. If you want to play with your friends, and they're all at lvl cap, do you really want to quest by yourself? They used to say, "the game starts at 60". Choose your "beginning".
